Freelance Development Worker: working with young Gypsy/Travellers

Two days per week equivalent.  Duration: Funded to March 2021.

Fees: the whole term fees are £32,665 [equating to £11,200 per annum].

Closing date: Friday 6th April 2018 at 5pm.

Interviews will be held in Stirling on Monday 16th April 2018.

To support young Gypsy/Travellers through processes of learning and development so that they are better equipped to compete with their peers from the settled community for positions in the areas of employment and further/higher education and to have their voice heard in matters which affect them. The role has two key strands:

1. Supporting young Gypsy/Travellers through formal and non-formal learning and personal development programmes;
2. Working with young Gypsy/Travellers to build capacity and social capital.

Currently this work is delivered on Gypsy/Traveller sites and at local authority learning centres in Edinburgh, Forth Valley and Perth and Kinross but may extend to other local authority areas in the future.
